Casting Call Series: The Wallflowers by Lisa Kleypas

TV casting for The Wallflowers by Lisa Kleypas
The Wallflowers Series Family Tree for all five books
I’m always looking for infographics like these for series, so I took matters into my own hands. Voila!

Four young ladies at the side of the ballroom make a pact to help each other find husbands . . . no matter what it takes. (Goodreads)

If you are a historical romance lover or are just getting into the groove of the genre, put this series on your list! I am a huge fan of Lisa Kleypas, not just for The Wallflowers, but for her subsequent series, too (The Ravenels and The Hathaways), and I highly recommend her.

What I love most about these books is that they are all part of the same universe. You’ll never have to be sad about leaving a beloved character behind because you will see them again. Even if it’s a quick cameo, I’ll take it.

That being said, be sure to include her The Gamblers of Craven’s Series (just two books) for an appearance by Ivo Jenner, Evangeline’s father.

Now, we all know Hollywood loves to adapt books into movies. I have been ranting and raving for years that historical romance is an untapped source. I mean, most series are based on a group or friends or family — the perfect set up for a television or limited series, I say.

(Note: when I found out Netflix was making Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton’s Series, I legitimately squealed. I immediately read ALL of them.)

So, without further ado, if we were casting The Wallflowers, this is who Amber and I would cast:

(Please keep in mind, we quoted physical descriptions directly from the book where we could. Where we couldn’t, we put it in point form.)

  1. Hi Lisa! Totally fair. When we think of Jamie Dornan, we go back to when we first saw him in Once Upon a Time as the Huntsman. Additionally, we based this off looks. Is that what you’re referring to or acting ability? Personality? We aren’t big fans of Fifty Shades, so we didn’t consider that. We adore him in his other work 🙂

    Who would you cast instead?

  2. They are all perfect, ESPECIALLY Evie and St Vincent – Wow. Maybe you should rethink a career in casting. My top wish for a series is the Ravenels and imagine Stephanie Lauren’s Cynster series (the original 6)

  3. I always pictured Nikki Reed for Aline Marsden and Robbie Amell for Mckenna! I feel like Robbie does the scorned, emotional ex so well and Nikki Reed does the reserved-haunted past- graceful lady part super well
