It’s here! The end of 2020! Pardon us while we do a happy dance.
With the end of 2020 comes all the end of year posts outlining what we read this year (which if you have read our wrap-ups, Samantha read a lot of books), what we loved, and what we didn’t love.
This Blogmas we’ll be giving you all a bunch of insight into our 2020 reading habits, but here’s a quick look at our end of year reading with the End of Year Book Tag!
Samantha’s End of Year Tag
1. Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
I have lost count of how many times I have picked up and put down Rebecca. So, I took my own advice and watched the movie first. It may have done the trick. Here is to hoping I finally kick this book out of my TBR pile.
2. Do you have an autumnal/winter book to transition into the end of the year?
Just trying to get into the Christmas spirit over here!
3. Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
Not a book, but based on a book. Folks, I CANNOT PROPERLY EXPRESS HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THIS! I have been saying for years, YEARS, how someone, ANYONE, should turn a regency romance into a show or movie. When I saw that Netflix badge on this book, I started screaming (ask Amber). Guide to this series coming soon!
P.S. Sorry for all the yelling. Sort of.

4. What are 3 books you want to read before the end of the year?
5. Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?
Hm, the last time I read Joe Hill I couldn’t put down the book. It wasn’t as scary as I expected. Honestly, I probably have unrealistic expectations of horror books and think they will terrify me. Well, he may not have scared me the entire time, but he get me once or twice! I imagine the same will happen with N0S4A2.
6. Have you already started making reading plans for 2021?
This year I read a ridiculous amount of books. Next year, I plan on lowering the amount so I can spend more time on my writing. I say this now, but I am sure it will get out of control in no time. I’m planning on lowering it to 50 books, but my 2021 TBR pile is already at 22 (almost all romance novels — oops).
Amber’s End of Year
1. Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
I have been working my way through both of these books for a long time now. I really enjoy The Lunar Chronicles as a series and loved the first three, but the final book hasn’t caught my attention as much. I was a big fan of Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and couldn’t wait for King of Scars (also, it’s a beautiful book so I had to own it), but this book has been a sludge to get through. I don’t know if I’ll finish either of these by the end of the year.
2. Do you have an autumnal/winter book to transition into the end of the year?
What better way to get in the Christmas/winter mood than a book with twelve different winter themed dates? Basically anything that reads like a Hallmark movie is my favourite this time of year.
3. Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
Personally, there is nothing I’m really looking forward to. The last new release of 2020 I was looking forward to was A Warm Heart in Winter by J.R. Ward which came out in November.
4. What are 3 books you want to read before the end of the year?
5. Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?
Honestly, the bar for my favourite book of the year is so high nothing can surpass it. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue was hands down the most beautiful book I have read in years, so nothing is topping that any time soon.
6. Have you already started making reading plans for 2021?
Of course! Honestly, I’ve already been scouring 2021 book release lists like a crazy person. And yes, I have multiple books on pre-order! Check out my 2021 TBR shelf on Goodreads for the books I’m most excited about for next year.

We’ve both watched the Netflix movie, but have struggled to read the book. I’m definitely more intrigued by the book now that I’ve seen the movie and hope to read it soon. And glad you like our blog, thanks for reading 🥰 – Amber
