Not sure if this exists around the blogosphere, but we thought we’d get one started! So, here is the Meet the Book Blogger tag! We’ve come up with ten questions to talk about yourself, your reading habits, your favourite (or not so favourite) books, your ever-growing TBR, and more! It’s just an opportunity for us as bloggers to share some different details about our bookish shelves to each other and our followers. Hope you all enjoy it! Feel free to take part even if you haven’t been tagged.

Who is your all-time favourite character?
If anyone were to track my answers for these, they’d probably roll their eyes. HA! I will always say Scarlett O’Hara from Gone With the Wind as I never pass up an option to plug this book.
Oh boy. This is a hard one. (Way to ask questions we can’t even easily answer…) I’ll have to say Dustfinger from Inkheart. I remember falling in love with his character when I was younger and while I haven’t read the Inkheart books in over a decade, he’s always stuck with me. I love a character that is morally gray and he was of those OG characters for me.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what book would you bring? (Survival books don’t count)
Gone With the Wind because she is large and in charge. That bad boy would keep me occupied for a while. Again, sorry. Here it is again.
Assuming bringing a book with 1000 pages to burn also doesn’t count as a survival book…(I do not condone burning books, but on a desert island you got to do what you got to do). I’d probably bring Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. While not my favourite book, it is is my favourite Harry Potter book and it’s a serious comfort read. If I’m stranded on a desert island I would love to escape to Hogwarts for a few hours while ignoring my grumbling stomach.
What’s your most unpopular book opinion?
If I could throw love triangles in the trash, I would. Okay — actually, let me be more clear. The treatment of the so-called “love triangle” in the Twilight series drives me nuts. I am not Team Edward or Team Jacob. I’m Team-Why-Did-We-All-Love-This-So-Much? Sigh. High School Samantha, I know you had a vampire problem from reading The Vampire Diaries (pre-television show), but don’t believe your friend who said it was amazing. Walk away!
Ohhhh I have a few of these. Which one do I go with? I’ll pick something most people will possibly fight me on. Harry and Ginny and Ron and Hermione should never have ended up together. Ron is a wet blanket, Hermione deserved better, and the fact every Weasley brother was okay with Harry dating Ginny makes no sense to me. (As someone with an older brother, he would murder his friends if they dated me). Also, she also deserved better.
What’s your weirdest bookish habit?
So…after reading the first couple pages, I will flip to the end of the book and read the last line. Not the last chapter, page, or paragraph. Just the last line. Book titles, opening lines, and last lines are some of my favourite aspects of a book. I like to see how an author tries to grab my attention right from the beginning and how they leave me at the end. When it comes to my own writing, these are the things that usually come to me first. Often way before I have a whole idea fleshed out.
I don’t read books in a series sequentially. Only recently with romance have I started to do this, but for most of my reading life I never read the next book in a series no matter how much I love the one I just read. So, I could take years to read the next book. Or in some cases, never at all, which is why I have many unfinished series.
What character would you bring to a family event as your fake partner?
I would bring Ryan Kingston from Helena Hunting’s A Secret for a Secret , the third book in her All In series. He is just too precious for words. If you are a contemporary romance reader, check our her Pucked Series and companion series All In. I don’t have enough room to get into why he is so adorable, but I do know he’d make a good impression.
I’m just gonna back to my first ‘too precious for words’ crush and say Oliver Wood. He’s athletic, smart, kind, and can hopefully take a joke (key to being part of my family) and there’s no way that man won’t make a good impression. He’d go along with the whole fake partner thing like it was real and no one would be any wiser.
What made you decide to start a book blog?
Can I blame Amber? Nah. We both love books and I’ve always been intrigued by it. Not to mention, I wanted to become part of the book community. However, I didn’t want to tackle a blog by myself. With working full-time, it really felt like a daunting task. Anyways, Amber and I spend most of our time talking about books so this was an obvious choice for us.
Can I blame Samantha? We’d been talking about wanting to do something book related since basically the day we met. Then Covid hit, we had a bit more free time on our hands, and we said screw it, let’s do it! I mean, we spend all of our time talking about books, so maybe, just maybe, other people might want to hear what we have to say too? Turns out it was a great decision and we’ve enjoyed it ever since.
What about reading and books do you love the most?
I always loved movies and television, especially ones that tell really good stories. So, for me, it wasn’t too surprising that I fell in love with reading. No, I didn’t love reading from a super young age. I actually HATED it. It wasn’t until I was given the right book at the right time that I feel in love. Since then I’ve been gobbling up books like I’m starving.
Losing myself in a story. Reading has been a form of escapism for me since I was young. I fell in love with fairy tales when I was 3 and I’ve never stopped loving and fantasy and a book’s ability to transport you somewhere new. Reading is my comfort place, a place full of characters and worlds that I love. A place where my imagination can run wild and be free. Reading a book is like creating my own movie in my head with me as the director and the book as the script writer. The ability to conjure up these stories in my head is the most beautiful form of imagination for me.
What is your field of study/desired profession/current profession?
I’ll answer this one in point form:
– My field of study: I have a degree in English and Philosophy, a diploma in Public Relations, and a certificate in Publishing. One day, I plan on getting my Masters. Until then, I’ll probably accumulate more certificates.
– My desired profession is to be a writer in any shape or form. Though, while I would love to write a book, being a screenwriter would be HUGE for me.
-My current profession: I work in advertising and marketing. I’ve kind of hit on what I said above because I do a ton of copy writing as part of my job.
I studied English with a minor in Communications, Media, and Film and went on to study Public Relations. My current profession is a bit all over the place since Covid threw a dent in some things, but basically part-time book store employee, part-time blog writer, and part-time social media content creator. My focus is getting into Marketing and Advertising. My desired profession is to be a writer. I say that having never actually finished one of the many books I’ve started. That’s a 2021 goal. To actually finish writing a book to get one step closer to that dream.
What are some book recommendations that became your favourites/obsessions?

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue or The House in the Cerulean Sea. Depends on the type of reader you are, I will shove one or both down your throat until you read it.
