Tell me something about this world that you admire.

While I prefer to marvel and respect nature from behind a pane of glass, I can’t deny its beauty. There are some darn cool places in the world that humans have had nothing to do with. It’s impossible to not be amazed by it.

Children and their ability to dream The way that they view the world is something completely special. As adults we become so disillusioned and hardened by the world and forget what it was like to actually believe unicorns were real or brooms could actually fly us to the moon. I admire children’s ability to see the world so simply and in such a beautiful light.

What is your favourite form of creativity?

While writing is something I engage with all day everyday, the visual arts always blows me away, especially painting and sculpture. People who can look at a blank canvas and create something with some blobs of colour astound me. Not to mention those who use clay or stone blow me away the most.

Anything that has to do with telling stories through the printed word. I love books and the way authors twist words into vibrant worlds and places I just want to live in.

What colour is your soul?

Off the top of my head I would say blue. However, I took the same quiz as Amber and got Chartreuse. Um, ok? Here’s what the quiz had to say:

Your soul is both serene and radiant. Its lovely green and golden hues make it the perfect shade of chartreuse. When you are with your friends, they can feel your inner warmth encompassing them, and they always feel more enlightened when they leave. You are a true gem in the soul department, and you should flaunt your soul’s colour every chance you get.

Okay, so I had no idea and went a did a quiz here and I am not making it up when it told me my soul colour was….*drum roll*…Amber. Seems only fitting since that’s my name. Here is what the quiz said about my soul:

The warm and playful things you told us about your soul make it a lovely shade of amber. Your friends consider you more valuable than gold because you are always open and healing to them. Your soul is such a unique shade because you are such a rare and genuine person who cares about everyone you meet.

Think about your happiest memory. Then tell me the book/song that you are reminded of?

Digging up potatoes in my Grandpa’s backyard when I was little. That or driving around with him in his truck or talking walks in the wagon he built for my brother and I.

Those memories always remind me of The Best Day by Taylor Swift.

It’s not really my happiest memory, but it’s one that sits really heavy in my brain given current affairs. A day before Covid became a national pandemic I went to a concert for Dermot Kennedy, my favourite musical artist. The concert was in another country and Covid closed our borders the next day. I went with my mom (and by went, I mean I forced her to come with me – don’t worry she ended up loving it) and it was the best concert and one of the best nights of my life. I didn’t realize then how much something as simple as a concert would mean to me, but now with Covid, it’s become something so much more. Who knows when concerts and public gatherings come back, but even if that’s the last concert I ever go to, it was the most powerful and magical night. I love music and especially Dermot Kennedy, so I’m grateful to have had that last sense of normalcy before this pandemic hit.

(P.S. If you haven’t listened to his music, listen to my favourite song here. You can thank me later.)

Finish the sentence: once upon a time, there lived a turtle in…

…a shell that was neither too big or too small. Yet, he desired to shed his shell for the one his friend the hermit crab had — all shiny, sparkly, and gleamed all the colours of the rainbow when the sun rose or set.

“In a hole in the ground’. I instantly thought of the first line of The Hobbit here.

Do you have an aesthetic?/What is your favourite aestheitc?

Oh gosh. I like things that are comfy and cozy, but still have structure and are feminine. Is that an aesthetic?

Is perpetually anxious bookworm who only wears shades of burgundy and pink an aesthetic???

Share something you created.
